We were making waffles for breakfast this morning. Well, not exactly making them, but toasting them in the toaster oven. As they were toasting, I was helping Madelyn decide which plate she'd like to use for her breakfast. Of course I had to take the opportunity to throw a little lesson in there about colors, too.
Madelyn had two choices-a green plate or an orange one.
"Mommy, I want this one."
"And what color is that?"
"Green."
"Nice job."
"And what color is this one?"
"Blue."
"No Madelyn, it's the same color as a pumpkin. Orange."
So let's review.
"What color is this one?"
"Green."
"And what color is this one?"
"Pumpkin."

Well, "pumpkin" is sometimes a paint color.
